Interests: INTERESTS
Notes:

Mist & Veils is a brand new LARP gaming system set in a fantasy setting where a character player can choose to be just about any type of character they want to be from human, angel, faerian - such as elves, animal / humanoid, demon, etc . The point system and game play is totally unique from other LARP's, as well as a guild system is implemented for those who don't wish to play in combat only situations. This LARP is brand new, and in need of new groups to form - it's basicly free and we're looking for like minds to get in with the building process - so is a great opportunity for those who want to be a part of the beginning process.

As always, we paint up and make terrain specific to the battle so that you get the full aesthetic value. And the terrain and figures looks great! We play primarily with 6mm figures, although we do have 15mm figures. We use Avalon Hill's Napoleon's Battles as a rulesystem. If you are a board gamer, computer gamer, or miniature player of another period and would like to dive into the colour and grandeur of Napoleonic miniature wargaming, maybe our club can help you in that direction. You don't need any figures to play. We are a very friendly group so you can expect a lot of help and support. If you are interested, just call Barry

Notes: Inspired by the success of the Tri-Valley Boardgamers (TVB), a few of us TVB regulars who live in the Silicon Valley/South Bay portion of the San Francisco Bay Area have decided to form a similar group closer to where we live and work. For lack of a better name, we're calling this group the Silicon Valley Boardgamers (SVB).

Meetings: SVB meets on alternate Wednesdays at a store in Mountain View called Match Play. They charge a $2 admission fee to use their playing area, which is refunded if you buy at least $4 worth of merchandise from them. Match Play is located in the San Antonio Shopping Center (near Sears) at the northeast corner of San Antonio and El Camino in Mountain View. Here is how to contact them: (650)947-0398 e-mail: blchew@matchplay.com The first official meeting of SVB was Oct. 8, and the next meetings will be Nov. 19 and Dec. 3. The schedule is chosen so as not to conflict with TVB

Interests: Like TVB, SVB meets regularly for the purpose of playing strategy boardgames. We play all kinds: Avalon Hill games, German imports like The Settlers of Catan, rail games such as the 18XX series, a variety of wargames, and various card games (just non-collectible ones so far). What we play depends solely on what meeting attendees want to play, so we could certainly branch out to include other kinds of games such as miniatures or CCGs

Notes: The South Bay Gaming Club has 100+ members, most of whom live in the greater Northern California area (from Monterey to Sacramento), centered around Silicon Valley. The club's membership is regional rather than local, filling much of the gap left by the HMGS-affiliated groups in the Seattle and LA areas. Our monthly meetings are one-day minicons, venues for 5-10 open events each month. The membership tends to favor historical miniatures, but we have active enclaves of fantasy, board, and card gamers. Annual dues: $10. Newsletter. Monthly minicons (including flea markets). Annual dinner.

Cons: co-sponsor Vicicon (exclusively miniatures, mainly historical)

and Pacificon (a general gaming convention with a strong miniatures).
