Committee Reports:

Development: Nothing to report

Tuition: Dave Muench updated the board on the 30-hour program - there is some very good information to analyze from the data. The approximate total hours volunteered so far is between 5,000 and 7,000.

A policy is needed for tuition overpayment and the 30 hours program.

The guidelines for tuition assistance are being revised. They will be posted on the website.

Computer: Brand new computers were installed in the 3rd and 5th grade. Another is being donated. The computer program is moving forward and is very progressive.

Budget: The budget for next year was submitted at the Home School Guild Meeting.

Policy and Planning: Jim Serafin submitted several scenarios to the board regarding the fundraising policy for discussion. Several suggestions were made including: all fundraising must be submitted to the board for approval or attend a board meeting to submit

Mission Statement: Nothing to report

Education: Block scheduling is going through a trial run this week for the 5th - 8th grade. Block scheduling will be in place next year. Barb Ryan explained that standards testing is being changed therefore more hand-on learning is required. There is not enough time in the standard period so they are being doubled up. The purpose is to develop higher level thinking skills.

She told the board that Annunciation is the first Catholic Elementary School in the Diocese to block schedule.

Unfinished Business: The Clinton Street safety lights are proceeding slowly.

No news on the endowment program.

An anonymous letter was received by the board regarding the curriculum fair.

New Business: The Middle States update report is finished.

A crisis plan has been done. A suggestion was made to have a lock and buzzer system on the front door. A mirror could be used to view the front entrance from the office.

Creative session ideas will be discussed next meeting.

Other: Nothing to report.

The Annunciation School Board minutes are published in the Annunciation Web Site under the school board link on the main page. Anyone who does not have Internet access can get them from the school office.
