Committee Reports:

Development: Personal contact and phone calls are needed to raise enrollment. Inviting parents to tour the school, participate in events, was suggested. Plans are being made to have flyers at the picnic and announcements made during the picnic. A booth manned by parents was also suggested. The lighted sign will have registration information displayed by default.

Tuition: Additional information was provided on the data gathered on the 30 hours program. There was extensive discussion on whether there is a need for a Tuition Rebate Policy. It was suggested that the money be rolled over to apply towards next year's registration or tuition if a parent did not wish to receive their overpayment. It was suggested that the school not get into an "overpayment" situation to begin with.

Computer: Scott McDonald, the Diocesan Technology Manager attended the last Computer Committee Meeting. Barb Ryan, Dave Muench, Jim Serafin, Pat Moscato and Anne Pryzbylski were also present. Scott presented his vision of the Diocesan computer technology plan. His vision complements Annunciation's perfectly. He was impressed at the progress we have made at Annunciation.

Scott is forming a consortium to leverage the buying power of the Diocese for the benefit of the individual schools. During the meeting we encouraged Scott to engage Annunciation as a pilot school with regard to Computer Curriculum Corporations remedial reading and math program we are now using. CCC has agreed to pilot the Application Service Provider (ASP) concept with our school. By utilizing ASP's we can access the latest version of the software from school, the home or anyplace that has access to the web. It will ease administration and always keep us current. Many other software manufacturers are also beginning to implement the ASP model.

The committee also agreed that since we already have each classroom wired that we consider using the Thin-Client Model which would keep our equipment current longer and lower our life-cycle costs. Standalone computers have a typical life cycle of three years. The thin-clients have a life cycle of 6 years and are much easier to administrate as well as a lower initial cost. Annunciation stands ready to embrace the next wave of technology and is a leader in the Diocese.

Budget: Nothing to Report

Policy and Planning: A Fundraising Policy was presented to the board for approval. After discussion it was agreed that each board member review the policy before next meeting. Any changes will be agreed upon and a vote will be taken at the June meeting.
