Committee Reports:

Development: Invitations have been sent to all the parents of 4 year olds registered in the parish to spend the day with us at Darien Lake. They would meet some families and spend time getting to know parish families. We need to continue to market to this group year round.

Action item: To divide the list and make calls to improve enrollment. Mark, Jim and Janet volunteered to make some calls. A calling script is needed.

Tuition: Tuition overpayments will be accounted for and kept at the school level. It was suggested that a letter go out with the tuition books if there is a credit.

As of June 1st, 32 families still owe on tuition. 2 families have made no payment. The school is $8,400 in arrears.

The tuition assistance guidelines have been revised. We should make families aware of the Glasko tuition assistance grant.

Computer: The school now has a two-way Internet cable connection with Adelphia. A new computer was purchased for the computer lab.

Budget: Nothing to Report

Policy and Planning: A vote was taken on the fundraising policy that was condensed from the "Statement of Principles for fund raising in the United States by Arch/Diocese, Arch/Diocesan Agencies and Religious Institutes" 1977 - National Conference of Catholic Bishops. There were three (3) votes for the policy and five (5) against.

After discussion it was agreed to amend the first page and to not include the "Statement of Principles…". A vote was taken and the amended form with an operations attachment was passed unanimously.

Mission Statement: Nothing to report

Education: John Fitzgerald advised the board that most of the Education Committees goals were met. Grade 4 has shown significant progress with the remedial program.

Unfinished Business: Art Club - Our art teacher has volunteered to handle it if there is sufficient interest.

Janet Shanahan reported the furniture should be available by the end of the school year.

New Business: An idea was put forward - students achieving a 94 average be exempt from final exams.

Other: Kathy Gullo submitted her resignation from the school board. As of this time, there will be 4 openings on the school board for next year.

The Annunciation School Board minutes are published in the Annunciation Web Site under the school board link on the main page. Anyone who does not have Internet access can get them from the school office.
