Annunciation School Board Meeting Minutes

Excused: Mike Pepe, Elaine Ruszczyk, Bernadette Bookmiller
Unexcused: John Fitzgerald
No Teacher Representative was present.
The meeting began at 7PM with a prayer by Robin Bartnik
Motion was made to approve December minutes by Judy Eckam and seconded by Sharon Winkler.
Committee Reports:
Development: Shadowing will take place Jan. 10. It will include a pizza lunch. 55 people are expected to attend.
The families will also be invited to the Family Mass on January 28 after the 11:30 AM Mass.
Postcards are being sent to the mailing list. We are heavily recruiting for the 1st grade as this grade has only 10 students.
The family buddy system is looking for families to be buddies to the incoming kindergarten families.
Tuition: Overpayments are being taken care of. The 30 hour guidelines will be resent to families.
Computer: Ann reports there is a new printer in Kindergarten. CCC is now on 13 computers. The program is also being reviewed to see if it can be used for enrichment.
Budget: The budget is due March 1, 2001 and is being worked on.
Policy and Planning: Tuition was discussed and ideas were presented to help parents justify the cost of attending Annunciation. It was agreed that a letter would be drafted to be included in the packets distributed to families. (Reasons Why You Should Consider Sending Your child To Annunciation) Also discussed were latchkey programs and an early morning babysitting service.

Building and Grounds: A cleaning questionnaire is being distributed to teachers.
Heating system - Each room is separately controlled and features a 3 hr. occupancy button. The gym has been programmed for a maximum temperature of 62 degrees. Due to the high energy costs this season everyone is being asked to dress warmly.
Unfinished Business: The flashing signal permits have been signed. We are expecting construction in the spring.
Principal Issues: January 28th - Feb 4th is Catholic Schools Week. Events have been scheduled every day. Special Persons' lunch will be Wednesday. The 7th and 8th grades will visit OLV. There will be a prayer service, Irish Dancers, storytelling and ethnic crafts.
