Annunciation School Board Meeting Minutes

Tuesday, April 3, 2001

Attendees: Barb Ryan, James Serafin, Otto Wieand, Judy Eckam, Janet Shanahan, Dave Muench, Sharon Winkler, Robin Bartnik, Ann Przybylski, Mike Pepe, Elaine Ruszczyk, Bernadette Bookmiller, Mike Sobczak, John Fitzgerald Unexcused: Sharon Winkler

No Teacher Representative was present.

Otto Wieand opened the meeting with a prayer.

Motion was made to approve March minutes by Bernadette Bookmiller and seconded by John Fitzgerald.

Committee Reports:

Development: A 3-year-old afternoon program has been started.

Jill Lauffer has agreed to work on the endowment fund committee.

Tuition: Dave Muench reported there are substantial tuition delinquencies. The 30 hours program has been updated and a new report has been sent to families showing credits and tuition balances.

Computer: New passwords are being put on computers so students cannot have access.

Budget: The budget is at a 38.8% subsidy from the parish with a tuition increase of $100.00.

Policy and Planning: Nothing to Report.

Mission Statement: Nothing to Report

Education: We received a very positive report from Middle States after their sixth year follow-up.

Building and Grounds: Cleaning issues are still being discussed. Gym floor cleaning and waxing was also a concern.

Unfinished Business: The flashing lights should be in by the new school year.

Principal Issues: None

New Business: The lack of school spirit was voices by a board member.

The raffle of 10 tuition slots at this year's picnic was proposed to the board for new student families.

Long range plans - endowment and a large gift campaign.

Other:

The meeting was adjourned after a prayer by Dave Muench.
