Annunciation School Board Meeting Minutes

Tuesday October 1, 2002

Excused Absences: Mark Phillips, Mary Jane Liszewski and Paula Penepant

Unexcused Absences: Elaine Ruszczyk and Mary Beth Morgan

Vice Principal Mary Kay Schaub attended meeting.

Meeting called to order at 6:35 pm

Robin Bartnik opened the meeting with a prayer.

Correction needs to be made to budget to say that the "school was on budget for 2001-2002 school year" as well as the number of enrolled students in grades K-8^th is 143 not 163. Motion was made to accept September’s minutes with corrections. Accepted by Jim Serafin and Bernadette Bookmiller.

• Goals – See attached.
• Tuition – Payments for 1^st month of school are scheduled for this year.

Development:

• See attached schedule.
• We need to get parents involved. Letters need to go to parents in red folders to ask them to help with development of the school.
• We are asking that teachers be required to provide information monthly that can go into local papers for publicity of our school.
• The gift solicitation letter should go out again in the red folders. Get Mary Jane to approve 1^st. The solicitation should include to categories; 1 for corporate gifts and another list comprised of smaller gifts that can be given by families, i.e. electric sharpeners.

• The goal is to support Fr. Emil and Mary Jane. See attached.

Mission: Nothing to Report

• The parish directory needs to be updated.

Principal Report: Nothing to Report

Constitution:

• The constitution will be sent downtown this month by Mary Beth Mann as is. We will look for changes, if any from the dioceses.

It was brought up by Jim Serafin that from a technology stand point he thinks that a Technology committee should stand alone from the Education and or the Buildings and Grounds committees to make sure that the "hardware" provided to the school is kept as close as it can be to cutting edge, i.e. rotating in computers, internet and IBM compatible software. However a motion was made to keep technology under education and buildings and ground. Motion accepted by Robin Bartnik and Jean Sobczak. A vote was taken: 4 yes and 1 no.

All committees are to put together an agenda and forward them to Dave Muench prior to board meetings so that he can put it on the agenda.

All final committee goals will be forwarded to Father Emil and Mary Jane to be reviewed.

The next meeting is November 5^th at 6:30pm in Selbert Hall.
