IMAGINE A COUNTRY...

Imagine a relatively young country, yet not in its infancy.
The country from whence this nation came, its mother country, is
still in existence and will be at least as long as the young nation exists.
A proud country, who believes it is strong and pretty much invincible.
Other nations flow into it, giving it a mingled population.
Most of their enemies live very far away from them, so it is a pleasant
place to live, where most have the ability to be relatively carefree.
The citizens tend to be pleasure-seekers - a fat country.
A country abundant in treasures.
A place with a wealth of knowledge.
The inhabitants tend to believe that this country
is superior to other countries.
As a matter of fact, this country has been praised by the whole world.
It has been used by God and has had a huge influence
in the world - some good, and some bad.
It has a Godly heritage, but that heritage is being destroyed.
There is much religious confusion in this nation.
It has a very large Jewish population, God's chosen people,
who will eventually heed the call to their homeland, Israel.
Who is this country?
It's part of the description of end-times Babylon
in the Old Testament, which is destined to be destroyed.
Are you surprised? Did you think it was describing America?
Maybe it was.
It can't be, you may say? Why not?
Because you haven't been taught this?
Because your pastor would disagree?
Consider what is going to happen to the average church leader in the last days:
Jeremiah 25:34-36 Howl, ye shepherds, and cry;
and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock:
for the days of your slaughter and
of your dispersions are accomplished;
and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel.
And the shepherds shall have no way to flee,
nor the principal of the flock to escape.
A voice of the cry of the shepherds,
and an howling of the principal of the flock,
shall be heard: for the LORD hath spoiled their pasture.
You may be thinking, "Now wait just a minute.
Not MY pastor. He's a good preacher.
He does his best. He preaches out of the Bible.
Although, he did say something a little
questionable last Sunday, but nobody's perfect.
And he rarely speaks about anything prophecy-related,
although 1/3 of the scriptures are prophetic.
I guess he's afraid of offending his congregation
since there's so many different viewpoints...
...he would lose too many members.
Can you blame him?"
I don't know if your pastor is among the shepherds
spoke of in this prophecy of the last days,
but there is no doubt about this:
The church leaders in the last days will fall.
God has spoken it in His inerrant Word.
This should lead you to conclude that
just because your preacher said it,
doesn't necessarily mean it's correct.
Would you trust your eternal soul to a mere man?
Sounds like it's time to start reading the scriptures
with fresh eyes to see what it really says.
You may be thinking, "Well, I just don't know about this.
I would have to look into it further."
There's no time like the present.
You may want to read or re-read the following chapters
and ask the Holy Spirit to lead you into the truth.
Jeremiah 50 and 51
Isaiah 47
Habakkuk 1
