Listed below is my order of battle for 15th Infantry Brigade.
15th Canadian Infantry Brigade
Raised 29 July 1941 at Valcartier, PQ for internal security. It
moved to Debart,NS on 1 February 1942. It moved to the Pacific
Command in October 1943 and served there at Wainwright, Alberta;
Terrace, BC; Jasper, Alberta; and Prince George, BC before returning
to Port Alberni, BC on 31 January 1944. It moved to Wainwright,
Alberta on 18 May 1944 and to Prince George, BC on 7 October 1944.
It returned to the east in January 1945 and embarked for the United
Kingdom on 18 January 1945. It was disbanded on 18 January 1945
and absorbed into 14th Canadian Infantry Training Brigade on arrival.
Brigade Troops
Les Voltiguers de Québec 29/7/41 - 1/42
Le Régiment de Montmagny 18/3/42 - 9/43
Le Régiment de Québec 18/3/42 - 9/43
Les Fusiliers de Sherbrooke 18/3/42 - 9/43
The Royal Rifles of Canada 9/43 - 8/44
The Prince Edward Island Highlanders 9/43 - 18/1/45
Les Fusiliers du St. Laurent 9/43 - 18/1/45
The Prince Albert Volunteers 9/43 - 18/1/45
The problem with this brigade is that it was mobilized on 29 July
1941 but two of its listed battalions, Le Régiment de Montmagny
and Le Régiment de Québec, were not moblized until
18 March 1942. I believe that two battalions, Le Regiment de Hull
and the Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury Regiment, filled in for these
two battalions from 29 July 1941 to 18 March 1942, but have not
been able to confirm this. Both of the later battalions had mobilization
dates of 29 July 1941, which is why I suspect they were part of
the brigade.
Listed below is my order of battle for 16th Infantry Brigade:
16th Canadian Infantry Brigade
Raised 18 March 1942 in Ontario and moved to the west coast in
June 1942 to Prince George, BC, where it remained until disbanded
on 15 October 1943. Reformed 20 August 1944 in Canada. Moved to
Nova Scotia in December 1944 and disbanded on 10 January 1945
(HQ on 15 April 1945). Disbanded 10 January 1945 in Canada (HQ
on 15/4/45)
Brigade Troops
The Oxford Rifles 18/3/42 - 9/43
The Prince of Wales's Own Rangers 18/3/42 - 9/43
20/8/44 - 10/1/45
The Winnipeg Light Infantry 18/3/42 - 6/42
3rd Battalion, The Edmonton Fusiliers 6/42 - 8/43
The Royal Rifles of Canada 20/8/44 - 10/1/45
The Midland Regiment 20/8/44 - 10/1/45
The problem is confirming that the Winnipeg Light Infantry
were under command from 18 March 1942 to June 1942, when they
were replaced by 3rd Edmonton Fusiliers. Other information I have
has the 3rd Edmonton Fusiliers under command from 18 March 1942
and the Winnipeg Light Infantry not under command.
