Are you an attorney?
Good question! The answer is no. I have
learned many things from my employment as vocational
rehabilitation counselor which caused me to be involved with
social security, school districts, psychiatrists, psychologists,
and other professionals. What I have learned is most people want
to avoid litigation. However, if your case is not be resolved
effectively through my intervention then I believe you need an
attorney then I will refer you to one who will try and meet your
needs.
In 2004, The Social Security Act was amended
and now allows for people who are not attorneys to represent people in social
security AND be paid their fees from the client's past due benefits directly.
I am scheduled to take the test for this national requirement in October 2005.
