![]() What's Joy Division, New Order and Factory? Joy Division was a band that existed in a brief period of time between the late 1970s and the early 1980s. The band ceased to exist when the lead singer, Ian Curtis, committed suicide by hanging himself at his home in Macclesfield, England on the morning of May 18, 1980. The band became New Order unofficially about 1 - 2 months after this tragedy. Factory was both bands' record label. My obsession with the band, and with punk and new wave in general, started in the early 1980s. It has lead me down many paths. Here is the smallest tribute I could possibly perform - a collection of images you can use as wallpaper or anything else. This page will expand into a deeper retrospect of the band and its cult following. For now, to find out more about Joy Division, New Order, and their record label, Factory Records, explore the links outside of this site listed at the Related Links section at the bottom of this page. |
