This is a portrait of my brother Steve and his wife Dianne, done mostly in watercolor. Some of the details were modified with colored pencil. This was back in the days when I thought I was "salvaging" a picture if I had to resort to gouache or colored pencil to finish a watercolor. Now I realize I was just doing a mixed media piece! Dianne's hair is almost all gouache, which is opaque watercolor.
