On my first trip to Italy, in 2001, I took many slides of the doorways and windows of villas in Tuscany. These buildings date back to the Renaissance, and yet they are well-maintained and very much a part of modern life in Italy. The past and the present come together effortlessly in Tuscany. Just an incredible place. I loved it there.
