"Anticipation" - transparent watercolor, with just a little gouache to create the feather. This is my mother's cat Cleo, who was actually looking at something outside the picture. That didn't seem to make sense, so I added the feather as an afterthought. This led me to the painting's title. Cleo is thinking: okay, I know there's a bird around here somewhere....
