This is colored pencil on matte acetate (also known as frosted Mylar). The white in the painting is actually the white board that the painting is mounted on, showing through the acetate. The black is achieved by applying heavy layers of black to both sides of the acetate. This painting won second place in the CPSA show in 1999, appeared in the International Artist January 2000 issue, as well as the October 2000 issue of American Artist.
