This
was my first commissioned portrait in colored pencil. It was not an easy first
assignment, because the gentleman in this portrait was deceased. The client
wanted me to use a snapshot of him. Unfortunately, the snapshot was very small
and didn't show him very well. This made me very nervous, since the client was
presenting this portrait to her mother (the lady in the portrait) as a surprise!
Luckily, the client was happy with the result. Somehow, I had managed to capture
the likeness of her late father despite the poor snapshot. Thank goodness!
